Start a Remote Access Session with Splashtop On-Demand Support

Get your Splashtop Business App ready to start a session

Run the Splashtop Business app that you installed above (on your Windows, Mac computer or iOS or Android device).

Navigate to the SOS area of the app

Click the “+” SOS icon or select “SOS | Connect to User’s Computer” from the menu

You will see a “Connect to User’s Computer” dialog where you will enter the 9-digit code that the user gives you (in the steps below)

Ask your user to download and run the SOS access app

Have your end-user go to the SOS app download link (as displayed in your Splashtop app) to download and run a small program or app and give you the 9 digit code.

Note that the page will automatically detect their operating system and offer them the Windows or Mac download if they are on a computer or a mobile app download if they are on a mobile device or tablet.

User runs the app (on Windows and Mac)

The user goes to the web page and downloads and runs the app.

The user only has to run the app, there is no install process.

A 9 digit code is displayed.

They give you the code and you enter it in your Splashtop App (after clicking the SOS + icon) and that starts the session.

There are some additional options under the Settings menu.

• Sound – Choice to output sound over the remote connection only, on this computer only or both
• Security – Choice of whether to request permission from the user when someone tries to connect. Options are to Reject after the request expires, Allow after the request expires, or Off.
• Advance – Has proxy settings options (No proxy, Auto, Manual) and to set Server, Username and Password

User runs the Android app

If the user visits the SOS app download page from an Android device, they are prompted to download the SOS Android app from the Google Play store. They may also be prompted to download an add-on based on their phone manufacturer to add remote control of that type of phone or tablet.

After they install and run the app, the experience is the same. They give you the code displayed in the app and you use that code in your Splashtop app to remotely access and control their Android device.

Connect as Admin option

When you start a session to access a Windows computer, there is a checkbox where you have the option to “Connect as Admin”. You will be prompted to log in with an administrator account on the Windows machine and you will then be able to perform activities that require administrator privileges.

After entering the 9 digit code into the SOS screen of your Splashtop app, click the arrow to connect and the remote access session will begin.

Below is the remote user’s computer screen shown in an SOS window on the technician’s computer screen.

When you begin the session, the remote computer screen will open in a window on your computer. Within that window, you can control their computer with your mouse and keyboard just like you were sitting in front of it.

A drop-down menu (the blue down arrow V at the top of the screen) gives you access to additional control options.

When you are done, you can close the window to end the session or the remote user can click the Disconnect button on the access app to end the session.

How to navigate and control a computer screen from your mobile device

Starting the session from a mobile device is very similar to starting from a computer. Tap to run the Splashtop Business app on your device (in this case an iPad).

Look for the “+” SOS icon when you start the app and tap it. You will see a screen that looks like this where you enter the user’s 9-digit code.

On mobile devices, the experience of controlling the remote computer is a little different than when working on a computer because you won’t have a mouse.

On the initial screen (note the remote PC screen in the background), you will see an overlay that explains some of the finger gestures you can use to navigate the computer screen in place of using a mouse.

Click Continue to hide the hints and view the remote computer screen.

In the lower right corner of your screen are controls to open the toolbar and access the on-screen keyboard.

If you click to open the toolbar, there will be a number of options available to you.

• End session
• Show reminder of finger gestures
• Lock/unlock screen rotation
• Virtual trackpad and mouse settings
• Switch monitors
• FPS quality settings
• On-screen controls

And the down arrow button on the right hides the toolbar.

When you’re done with the session, just click the End session button at the left of the footer toolbar.

+ How do I refer people?

Go to https://my.splashtop.com/splashtop_referral and log in with your Splashtop account or create an account. You’ll see the referral dashboard that describes the program. You’ll be able to copy and share your personalized referral link. You will also see a list of people who have started a trial or purchased via your referral link.

+ Do I have to be a Splashtop customer to join the program?

If you’re not already a Splashtop customer, you can create a free account and join the referral program. You don’t have to be a Splashtop subscriber to participate.

+ What are the rewards for referring?

Being a referral program member is not a business relationship with Splashtop and you are not considered a reseller, agent or business partner of Splashtop. После установки Splashtop Personal на устройство, с которого будет выполняться управление и Splashtop Streamer на устройство, которым нужно управлять:

1. Зайдите под созданным аккаунтом в программе. После ввода логина и пароля впервые вас попросят «подтвердить это устройство» — на почту придет письмо, где нужно нажать «Authenticate this device» и так для каждого из устройств. После подтверждения вход нужно повторить.
2. Когда вход осуществлен на всех устройствах, и они подключены к одной сети, а также к Интернету, в Splashtop Personal вы увидите список удаленных устройств (если не отображаются, нажмите по кнопке «Обновить»), на которых установлен Splashtop Streamer.
3. Останется нажать по нужному удаленному компьютеру, чтобы установить соединение с ним и получить возможность удаленного управления. Функции, доступные в меню, малочисленные: переключение качества (можно сделать хуже, но быстрее), полноэкранный режим, режим масштабирования, сочетание клавиш Ctrl+Alt+Del и отключение от удаленного компьютера.
4. Из интересного и способного оказаться полезным — опция запроса дополнительного пароля при подключении, доступная на вкладке настроек «Безопасность» в Splashtop Streamer (можно ввести собственный код, либо запросить выполнять вход в Windows с данными учетной записи).

По сути, это всё, что доступно в программе: после подключения вы можете управлять удаленным компьютером, скорость доступа не плохая, приложение частично переведено на русский язык (не все элементы интерфейса), но и хорошей её назвать не могу, несмотря на то, что по  умолчанию в программе установлена опция прямого доступа в локальной сети, минуя серверы Splashtop.

Также, если отключить локальную сеть от доступа в Интернет, соединение теряется: можно предположить, что на серверах происходит не только аутентификация, но и дополнительная активность, необходимая для работы удаленного доступа.

Как итог: возможно, для кого-то Splashtop Personal и покажется удобным средством для удаленного управления компьютером, но на мой взгляд, если говорить об использовании в локальной сети, предпочтительнее будет удаленный рабочий стол Microsoft: полностью бесплатно, Интернет не требуется (но можно настроить доступ и из Интернета), доступно для множества платформ (Android, iPhone и другие) и, пожалуй, более функционально. Также, если у вас Windows 10, возможно вы не знали о том, что возможность удаленного управления можно получить с помощью простого встроенного приложения Быстрая помощь.

Manage your SOS account online

Go to your Splashtop web console to manage your account.

In the upper right you can access your account information and subscriptions.

Use the “Invite Technicians” button to invite additional technicians to your account. Remember that each SOS license allows 1 technician at a time to use SOS. If you have five licenses then any five people from your list of technicians can use SOS concurrently.

The “Current Sessions” list shows you currently running sessions under your account.

The “Session Code” field and Connect button allow you to enter the 9 digit code from the user’s computer or device that you want to access. Clicking the Connect button will open the native Splashtop app on your computer or mobile device with the session code loaded and you can start the session from the app. Running remote support sessions from a web browser isn’t supported.

Using your Chromebook to remotely connect to your work computer

By using a Chromebook with Splashtop remote access, you can launch a remote session instantly to your work computer and work from anyplace that has WIFI! This is possible in three easy steps:

1. Purchase or try for free, a Splashtop Business Access subscription suited to you or your team’s needs.
2. Install the Splashtop Streamer on your work computer.

How to Set Up Remote Desktop with Splashtop

After you’ve created your account and started your free trial, you’ll be able to install Splashtop on the devices you’re remoting from and remoting into. Here’s what you need to do to get set up:

Step 1 – Download the Splashtop Business App on the devices you want to remote from

With Splashtop Business Access, you can download and use the on an unlimited number of devices. You’ll use these devices to remote into the computer you’re connecting to. The app is available for Windows, Mac, iOS ( and ), and Android.

Step 2 – Install the Splashtop Streamer on the computer you want to remote into

Next, you’ll want to deploy the Splashtop Streamer to the Windows and Mac computers you want to remotely access. Go to my.splashtop.com and log in with the same username and password you used to create your Splashtop Account. Once logged in, click the Add Computer button. From there you can edit your Streamer settings (such as setting it to always be on when the remote computer is on) and create the download link.

Send the download link to the computers you want to have access to. Once that link is opened on the computer, it will download the Splashtop Streamer and be tied to your account.

Step 3 – Connect using the Splashtop Business App

With the Splashtop Streamer and Splashtop Business App installed, you will be able to start a remote desktop session! Open the Splashtop Business App and sign in to your account. You should see a list of all the computers that have your Splashtop Streamer installed. These are the computers you have access to. Simply click to connect and you’ll remote into your desired computer instantly.

Splashtop представляет несколько вариантов программ для удаленного доступа и управления компьютером: те из них, что предназначены для помощи удаленным пользователям или обслуживания компьютеров в организации являются платными. Версия Splashtop Personal ориентирована на частное использование одним пользователем и накладывает следующие основные ограничения:

• Доступ только в рамках одной сети: то есть все устройства должны быть подключены к одному роутеру. Ограничений по времени нет.
• Максимум 5 удаленных компьютеров (Windows, Mac OS, Linux).
• Нет возможности передачи файлов на удаленный компьютер и с него.

В качестве устройства, с которого выполняется удаленный доступ к компьютеру, может использоваться компьютер или ноутбук Windows и MacOS, а также мобильные приложения (приложение для iOS платное, для Android — бесплатно).
